King Jack Antenna

I was up on the roof of our Legacy yesterday doing some cleaning and realized that the King Jack antenna would freely swivel. I took the lower end apart and found the extension from the swivel base to the swivel knob is broken. Not sure how, when, or where that happened, it worked fine during the last trip. I am hoping there are parts available from King, will be checking tomorrow.

So what did they say?
Will they be sending you a new shaft?

Yes, a new shaft it appears. The latest design is a lower profile than mine, but the tech. thinks they still have parts for the earlier design. Either way, I'm good with it. Nice when suppliers know what you need and return calls and emails. The lower profile came out in late 2014, our rig is a 2015 model year so the change was somewhere right about when our rig was made.

The antenna is really easy to get apart, not much to it.

$6 part was here is a flash, was very simple to put in. Appears they have made the rotator shaft the weak link in case something makes contact with the antenna. Shaft will break first before destroying anything. I am not aware of hitting any branches, however stayed in many beautiful parks in Alberta and BC last summer that had lots of trees. Anything is possible.
