LED Awning Lights - Simple Question

Just my idle mind wandering I guess, but here's a strange question for folks that have the LED light strip built into their awning. My awning light strip is turned on and off via the porch light switch inside. When the porch light is on, the awning lights are on and vice versa. My question is a simple one: Do the LED lights stay lit if the porch light is turned on while the awning is rolled up? I have assumed they do and have purposely avoided leaving the porch light on while the awning is in for that reason. Does anyone have an idea if possibly the lights have some sort of sensor that shuts them off when the awning is retracted? I mainly worry about the heat build up damaging the LED strip, even though they produce very little heat. Not a really important question, but something I've been wondering about. Thanks.

Mine come on awning in or out but not with the scare (porch) light. They are separate.
No sensor. No worries.

I have purposefully left mine on then got on a ladder to see if there is any heat, could not detect any noticeable amount. Don't think it is an issue.
