My Magna shades are due to ship tomorrow so will get them early next week. Anything I should know about installing them?

We have had our Magna Shades since day one with our legacy and we love them and make a huge difference in cooling the coach.

For the installation just make sure your windows are clean and use rubbing alcohol or solution they give you. On the front window when you do your routine cleanings don't use any rejex or slippery waxes around the perimeter because your magnets will slide on the outside, the front cover is pretty heavy.

Enjoy, they fit perfect and work very well. Aside from the cooling they provide it is nice to leave the interior mcd front blackout shades up in the daytime and have a nice panoramic view looking out and still have the privacy since you can't see in through them.

Since our awnings don't exactly create a lot of shade regardless of the direction the coach faces I decided to order a shade pro awning shade. I went with black and 15 ft length with a 9 ft drop to stake it out at a angle away from coach. Our awnings are 17ft arm to arm with 16ft 2" of fabric so 15 ft is the size needed.

Should create a much bigger shaded patio area. I'll get some pics posted when I install it.

Another item we added a while back that should come std with the coach is a carefree awning cover. It is a black vinyl cover that the awning rolls up into to protect from tree branches and other items tearing awning. Makes awning look better as well when rolled up.

psw757,
Great idea for a thread. It is an excellent place to get ideas of what is possible. There are so many upgrades mentioned here that maybe it is time for some threads on specific upgrades with details. For example; what, when, where, why, and how of installing an onboard vacuum cleaner. Of course photos will be needed as it never happened if not photographed.

Kind of like post #7 here http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...era-85783.html

Do you have photos of it installed and pricing?

I just got a quote for the Magne Shade. It is still on my list of to do, but at $516.00 plus shipping it is down low on the list.

I'm not saying it is not worth the $516. It might be.

PSW757, I would also appreciate info on your awning cover. I am a bit surprised it didn't come with one. My Magna shades arrived today so hopefully to get them installed this week.

Magne Shade is great. It installs easy. I got the front plus the two side windows. It's a must do as it allow for more light in the coach and is easy to store.

I bought the front and two side windows too. Looks like a 2 person install so will wait for one of my sons to help.

The front is definitely a two person job. The sides is a one person job. Pretty easy just look it up on You Tube and review the video before starting the installation.

Looks nice. I've been searching the web trying to see where, exactly, that
cabinet is located. If I had to guess, based on what I've found, it might be
above the entry door?????

We currently have a 5th wheel and are looking to upgrade in a year or so.
Looking a 5ers and DPs and the Legacy 340KP is on the short list.

Any comments on livability for full timing and/or cold weather?

Thanks, enjoying your mods.

Top kitchen drawer redo

I finally got busy and fabricated a top drawer for the kitchen and got rid of the little mickey mouse plastic tray. Lots of wasted space there. A little tricky to fit around the sink but it came out good. Before and after pics attached

here are some of the pics as requested

the first picture is of the previously mentioned awning cover. I forget the exact name but it was ordered through carefree of Colorado and works and looks great. Price of part was around $200.

The second is a picture of my central vac install in my storage bay, outlet for hose in coach is right next to switches next to steps inside. works great!

Third picture is the shade pro vista shade. awning is about two feet from being all the way extended due to where it is parked in my driveway at the moment but you get the idea. The fabric hands from channel on roller and rolls up with awning. you can use it like that or the larger 6ft other secion zips to this and gets staked or bungeed to the ground. Creates a much larger shaded patio and helps keep coach cooler. material is similar to magna shade but thinner and lighter. unzips very quickly if needed for a storm/heavy winds.

fourth picture are the black mounts on ladder for my flag pole buddy fiberglass telescoping ladder. extends to fly two flags 18-20ft above coach.

any questions let me know

Can you send a parts and materials list for this? Great idea!
