Looking at a 38C forest river legacy thoughts? Price?

Hey every one I was just wanting to say hello and as always thanks for help

I am looking at a 2018 FR 340 38c class a diesel and wanted to know thoughts. Personally I love the floor plan and floor plan is a big deal

The closest dealer is @ $169k OTD is that good on this unit???

I first off was looking at a tiffin 38QBA and it’s about another 55k for some thing like this forest river

Please let me get some insights on price? Quality? Etc I have read a lot on both just wants y’all thoughts

Thanks

beautiful coach, well worth the money... you'll love the move to diesel, and yes, the floor plan is the key... usable while driving for the family, and with the slides in as well. The xcs chassis sits low and only requires the single entry step...nice.

After owning a 2014 and a 2018 Legacy, we’re pretty partial to them and went with the 38c the second round. In terms of quality or resale, I don’t think you’re going to find enough to justify the cost difference. I couldn’t shen we were looking anyways. For the Extra $55k, we would have gone to a Berkshire for the XCR raised rail frame and a few other niceties.

$169k is a pretty good price for a 38C. It’s less than we paid for ours.

Some items to compare and contrast:
With the QBA you get front-entry. Legacy you get Mid entry. This means that you don’t get the drop down bunk up front if you need that.

Personally, there are pros and cons to it. I can do without it, but my wife likes it.

The 38 gets you two full bathrooms, which is really nice. The QBR doesn’t.

If you are trying to compare apples to apples you really need to be comparing the QBA to the Berkshire 38A. 360 HP Engine, raised rail chassis, etc.

We just went through this so I’m happy to share any of our experiences with you.

My recommendation is to get out to a Large FR dealership and start test driving. [emoji3]

Not sure on the new Tiffin’s but friends of ours have had two older ones now, no warranty etc. Every time they call Tiffin they still go out of their way to help, send diagrams, parts, on and on.

Just hearing their experience with the units and support they have received has them on our list of potential retirement MH’s.

Went back and forth between Legacy 38C BH and Berkshire 38A BH. Ended up with the 2018 Berk. Had to give up second shower and bed over driver, but the difference in quality and added ammenities was substantial. Although there are two Berkshire levels above the 38A, the difference, except for the engine (360 Cummins vs. 380 Cummins) is not really that significant. But, the cost are much higher for the higher two models. For $35K more than the Legacy, Our Berk is we'll worth the difference.

I believe that to be a Good price. I saw a model 34A for about $10K cheaper on the internet last month.

We have had ours for almost two months. Just a couple of short trips. But we are really liking it! On our way back in Indiana so a longer trip. So far so good. We started with the 14 and liked it when we upgraded, decided to get another one. This is just a different floor plan.
And now to learn to drive this thing!! I’m the DW part of the crew.

We are very happy with our 2018 38c.We have owned ours since March and we are just now going in for warranty work for a few minor repairs. We came from a 2014 Allegro 35QBA. I’ll be honest Tiffin does have a few nice build things that the Legacy doesn’t offer. With that being said what really sold us on the Legacy is the layout and bang for your buck. Tiffin does not offer a DP with this family friendly of a floor plan. $169 is a great price best I was able to find was 174k.
