Low Battery and no Inverter on generator

We are boondocking and got a low battery warning. Turned on the generator and the batteries won't charge and the 110 system is dead in the water. In the past when we have gotten a low battery, we turned on the generator and every switched over and we were able to charge. We plugged into a friend and got the 110 system rest but we are not charging. Anybody seen this before? By the way, Coachnet was no help. Thank you.

It's hard to tell what's wrong from your description, but it could be a breaker tripped at the genny, or the transfer switch didn't switch. Since you didn't get charging when you hooked to an external source you could also have a converter problem.

Have you checked all the fuses?

Hey. Thanks. You were spot on. After a conversation around the campfire (which was after checking all fuses and troubleshooting for an hour) some suggested a breaker might be tripped on the generator. Bingo. We flipped the switch and we are back in business. Thanks!
