Mysterious 110 v line in Electric Component Compartment

In the storage compartment that holds the shore power cable, transfer switch box, and inverter there is a 110v GFCI outlet and a 110v line with a 110v plug that can be plugged into that GFCI outlet. Mine is not plugged in and I am reluctant to plug it in since I do not know what it is for. Can anyone tell me what the 110 v type line is for?

I would say block heater since you have a diesel engine.

Engine Block Heater, if you ever actually need it - probably won't unless you are in REALLY cold temps for weeks on end. It just is a way to 'pre heat' your engine block, via 120v power either from Shore or Generator.
I've never used ours.... and we've been in some 'cold'! temps many, many times.

What FormerFR said. Block heater. Very seldom used. I in fact used mine in a fairly cold night last winter just to see what would happen, worked fine. I could tell the engine was already warm, during cold start, the number of cycle times for the intake air heater (as noted on the amp meter) was far less than in normal cold starts. However, our rigs start really well in normal cold temps so I don't expect to use it again since we live in Arizona and hate cold.
