Question Need a windshield!

The dreaded time has come to replace the windshield, 26k miles. Anyone been down this road yet? What did it cost? Do we call FR?

I haven't called anyone, I didn't know if any windshield shop would have one this size, I bet not. I am guessing the windshield has certain specs and that would be supplied by FR.

FR just buys them from the manufacture. Ours was replaced by local auto glass place and took a couple of days for it to be shipped in. Insurance paid the entire bill. Skip

Just starting down this road myself . . .

So far it has been like taking an involuntary ride in the clown car from hell. . .

I have delayed until after my trip next week. I will try to refocus when I return in two weeks.

Definitely check your insurance policy and/or talk with your agent. I haven't had to replace the windshield on our coach but a few of the comments on here suggest it is a covered replacement. I know that on passenger vehicles, the windshield is covered under the Comprehensive section of your policy. It probably requires that some damage was done TO the glass as opposed to a defect such as stress or delamination. Also, many states, such as Florida require that the windshield is covered with no deductible. This is to take away the excuse of not able to pay the deductible and driving around with a damaged windshield.

Good luck
