Refrigerator Issues

I am having issues with a residential Frigidaire refrigerator in my 2017 38C, freezer wasn't getting below 20° and refrigerator was around 44°, found an appliance repair service willing to work on a motorhome refrigerator ( most companies won't). The tech found an ice blockage at the front of the freezer coils, he defrosted it and everything thing worked great for 2 weeks and then back to the same issues, I watched him work and removed the freezer compartment backplate to expose the coils and found no ice blockage, the tech did mention that if removing the blockage didn't solve the issue then it was possibly a leak at the compressor. I find it hard to believe that it would work fine for 2 weeks if it was a leaking compressor.

Has anyone had this problem?

The ice blockage was caused by the ice maker fill tube not being fully extended and dripping onto the coils.

Ice blockages are relatively common. Are the coils getting cold? Freezer or reefer compartment. It is possible that the unit is stuck in the defrost mode and the compressor isn't trying to cool. There are ways of forcing it to defrost and or cool. You might find it by searching the web for the tech manual.

What model?

See if this makes any sense with your unit. Take a look at the "service mode" and see if it responds.

Thanks, I found this under the fridge behind the front vent cover, put it in manual defrost mode, brought it out of manual defrost mode and the recycled the breaker for good measure, the compressor kicked on after a couple of minutes. I appreciate your assistance greatly, that's what I like about the forum, wealth of knowledge that exists and the willingness to share it. I'm going to you tube the defrost components and the procedure to replace them.

As I read this, post #6 says the problem is solved although some here say it's profitable to solve every problem multiple ways.
