Replacing the Sofa

Has anyone replaced the sleeper sofa in their Legacy? Earlier this year, we bought a 2014 Legacy SR300 34BH unit. The sofa is not very comfortable to sit on and leaves a lot to be desired as a sleeper. Was thinking about replacing the entire thing with a recliner sofa - two recliners on the ends separated by a fixed center section. The only time anyone has slept on it they choose to leave it closed and sleep on it as a sofa, not a bed.

I would love to hear what others have done about this as well as any other seating units (reupholster the dinette or reupholster/replace front cab captains chairs)

I purchased a De Leon RV Recliner Sofa from shop4seats.com
The sofa fits perfectly...got rid of that uncomfortable sofa/sleeper.
Yes, it fully reclines and comes with a lot of extras.

What did you do about the valences on each side of the window? Does this recliner sofa clear the bottom of the valences when you recline or did you remove them?

I unstapled the material on the bottom of the valence. I used a fine saw to cut of about 2 inches. I then restapled it back.

I really didn't have to trim it but it better.

You have to attach the sofa 4" from the wall and you still have full movement of the
passenger seat.

You will get a full recline with the slide out and someone can still pass by in front of you.

I did the same thing, except my wife wanted the valance much higher than just the minimum of what it would take to clear the recliner. I also had to do the side window as well. Pulling the 300 staples on each piece was a bit time consuming, but I fashioned a nice little tool to help with that.

....and what did you do, if anything, about the heat registers in the floor. I'm pretty sure everything we've looked at will either sit right on top of them or at least cover them.

Ours was in a slide, no heat ducts.
