Not me, but the thought process is cooking on that issue.

If anyone does this swap please post it here, I like the idea.

The two things in trying to figure out yet are

1. Can the water pump compartment be modified somehow to get some sort of useful storage out of it?

And

2. Has anyone tried installing a powered beverage cooler on a pullout tray?

I mounted some fishing rod holders on the panel above the water pump; room for four rods and works great.

We switched ours out with a double Recliner unit from RecPro. It fits in nice and only lost about two inches in the isle between sofa and dinette when the slide is closed. When the slide is open, the Recliner has clearance to open fully. You have to retract for someone to walk through, though.

The install wasn't too bad. Just a lot of measuring to be sure it was only going in once!

I don't have any good pics of my install to share but, I'll try to remember to take some next time I'm at the coach.

We also bought extra fabric and had the dinette cushions re-done. Now we have a little two-tone thing going on but boy, are those recliners comfortable compared to the jack-knife!

Here's a few pictures for you to see the fit, if you're still considering.

The more we look at the RecPro pictures the more I think this is an upgrade direction. The jackknife is starting to look bad and we would never use such a thing anyway. Like the storage under it, put not a show stopper.

Yeah, we miss the storage too. Used to keep extra soda and water under there. But, a sleeper-sofa isn't much good if you can't sleep or sit on it. Lol

One reason we went with the one from Rec-pro ( looked at others we liked, maybe even better) was because we could order the same fabric from them. My dinette cushions were peeling too so installed the Recliner unit and had a local upholstery shop recover the dinette cushions and backs. Was really trying to find a source for recliners, captains chairs, and fabric but struck out there.

Thanks much, I think we may copy your solution to this problem, makes nothing but sense.

I was looking to replace my sofa with theater seating as you did but was concerned that the heater vents were under the sofa. I see in your picture that your new couch is over the heat vents as well. Doesn't that pose a problem getting hot air in your coach and poses somewhat of a risk when your heater is on? It looks great. Thanks.

Thanks much for all the pictures. Our rigs are identical it appears, watching for a Recpro sale, seems they have some good sales from time to time, and we will order then. I assume the slight encroachment on the heater duct has not been an issue. I don't believe there is enough heat there to to worry about.

Hey there, sorry, I just saw you posted. Yes, was concerned about the heater vents but, living in So. Fla we have only run the furnace once. I opened the recliners while the heat was on so it wouldn’t dry out the fabric or be a fire hazard

Rick, the heat does get pretty hot but we have only used the furnace once since we’ve had the coach. I don’t think it could start a fire but concerned that prolonged use could dry out the fabric. So, we opened the recliners and there is no problem at all.

Thanks for all the info. I did the exact same furniture swap today, looks great. You are right, not as close to the heater vent as the photo appears, I don't think it will be an issue. RecPro seems really easy to work with, received ours in just a couple days even with cross country shipping. Heading out for New Years, anxious to try it out!

Wow Rick, almost looks like you used one of my pictures! I agree, RecPro is great to deal with and their shipping is fantastic. I also agree that although the air coming from the vent is warm it's not hot enough to cause an issue on the corner of the recliner.
