We went out the motorhome parked on our driveway and found this on the steps, bathroom floor, bedroom floor and kitchen. Any ideas?

Does it have an odor? What does it feel or look like upon close inspection? Was the camper locked before this happened?

If you are talking about your outside steps, that almost sounds like a trail from something that was taken from the inside to the outside.

What is directly above the locations you find this substance? Any chance there is an air vent?

It looks similar to what I saw when we had ants get into the wall of our Windjammer. They made their home in the wall by carrying out all of the pieces of styrofoam they chewed up. It didn’t look like styrofoam balls. They chewed it up. It looked just like what is in your picture.

Thank you Bruce. We had a friend tell us they had the same thing in their 5th wheel. We’re going to set off an ant bomb and see if it takes care of the problem.

It’s very flaky, no smell and the motor home was locked. I do think it was ants in testing up the insulation.

We tried bombs, but the ants were too well protected inside of the wall and it didn’t work. We ended up calling a professional exterminator who found where they were, then he used some sort of bait gel, strategically placed and also injected into some places inside and outside of the camper. He also did some sort of perimeter treatment on the ground since we are on a seasonal site and don’t move often and the problem stopped in about a week to 10 days. They never returned after that, which was two years ago. While he was there he also did some sort of perimeter treatment to keep mice away. The service came with a one-year guarantee with unlimited return visits if we still had problems. It cost $120.00 and I think it was well worth it.
