2016 Shasta Airflyte sway issues

I am still very new to owning a travel trailer and very much appreciate the wisdom of these forum communities.

I am looking for advice on issues I have been having with sway at higher speeds while towing my 2016 Shasta Airflyte (16 foot version).

While driving on the interstate and going more than 55-60 mph the camper really moves a lot behind my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel tow vehicle. Of course, it is worse when there are crosswinds, but even with minimal winds the camper still moves a lot side to side.

I have read in other threads/forums that replacing the Coker passenger tires with true trailer tires can help. I also wonder if a sway bar system would even help on this small/light of a trailer.

Any advice on how to make the camper more stable at higher speeds (though I understand that I need to drive at safe speeds)?

My parents had a 16 foot trailer and used a weight distribution hitch with a sway bar. They didn't have any problems after that. Also verify that you have correct tire psi and front end trailer weight.

Before spending the money on expensive hitch systems consider doing some small changes. The ST tires have stiffer sidewalls and may stop the sway, with that short of a trailer I would look into my loading and ensure there is enough tongue weight. without proper tongue weight the short trailer acts like a caster on a cart at hight speeds. Let the forum know how you solve the problem

Thank you both for your advice and recommendations. I plan to start by replacing the tires with true trailer tires and then play with more of the balance of how we are loading the trailer.

Are you using a WDH system?

I am still very new to towing a travel trailer so I have not explored investing in a WDH system. (Someone once told me this may not make a difference for such a short trailer.) Is that what you advise? If so, any suggestion on which company has good ratings/reviews?

With a short wheelbase vehicle like your Jeep and pulling a single axle trailer, I certainly would get one.
I would recommend the E2, from Progress Manufacturering, for a trailer like yours.
