I don’t think they care to send surveys out because they don’t care about people, quality or safety. To quote the POS...customers are “uneducated" and “picky". Do you think someone that puts that in writing cares about anyone? Nope. Mr. Ego..it is all about him. I’m sick of reading the same old story in the RV mags about him and his wife’s jacked up camper. Blah..Blah..Blah. The idea was good. The promises were over the top in the videos (One piece roof anyone? No Leaks. ) It’s just sad that it did not come to fruition. After many attempts to restore the safety of our camper via the dealer & Shasta...EPIC FAILURE...we have shackles that do nothing for the serious defects.. I was told by the POS via my dealer that my problem was not a problem. I took MY problem to a neighbor that has some influence on matters like these. Could we all be liberated soon? I don’t know but I rolled the dice. If you don’t ask for help, you won’t get it. Per the Shasta manual, if you find a defect report it to the dealer and safercar.gov Simply enough folks aren’t putting in formal complaints. I suppose safercar.gov is the survey. lol

It is important to mention neither Forest River nor Shasta owns, operates or is affiliated with Forest River Forums. Therefore, we do not monitor, participate or update the information on that site. As mentioned in my letter, which was included in your original email, most of the information on social media is incorrect and in many cases exaggerated. This came from Mark Lucas who seems to think we are making these problems up, but on the other hand doesn't care. Your right msobvious, if people do not report it, than it's your word against theirs.

Have not sold it yet DouglasLive. Haven't camped in it since owning it and today I was looking at the back window area inside and discovered a leak at the corner. The cushion was hiding it. Called the dealer and will take it in for repairs. Told them I am taking the title with me and make me an offer. I hope not to bring it back.

Rumor has it that Forest River may be issuing a recall to fix wheel clearance issues (not just shackles) on both 16 & 19 foot models. different fix for each size.

That would be nice, instead of the half-cocked remedy of putting shackles on an already over taxed suspension setup. Hopefully they come through with something.

I find it funny who started the rumor. Let me tell you like it is. There are safety issues and they are in review. The DOT is in the know. This isn’t FRs first rodeo so they will fuss and fight. FR was fined $5 Million with like $30 Million suspended. They have much at risk. A third party is in place and things are suppose to be monitored. Educated consumers tend to read up on the legal standing of fellows that spew insults. Call me uneducated, call picky. I don’t think so. Check out to get up to speed on the FR legal standing with the DOT. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs...4002-60233.pdf If you feel that you want to escalate your issues then put a report in to safercar.gov Your shasta/FR manual says to do this. But don’t bother if your camper is perfect. Although it’s funny how those with perfect campers were getting their shackles put on at a rally by FR employees. Not needed repairs, y’all know those campers were perfect. lol If you feel you have a SERIOUS problem and are concerned please drop Kevin Vincent a note at Office of the Chief Counsel (NCC-111), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, West Building, W41-326, 1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE, Washington, DC 20590. If I had lag bolts missing or a serious breakdown...I would let this guy know. Also if I had one of the campers that was taken in for repairs and did not get a proper bill of materials for the warranty...I would be on the phone and sending this guy a letter. You need to know the detail of the defects. It is your asset. Don’t think anyone will help you when that one year warranty is up.

i don't know why on gods green earth, why FR does the shotty workmanship they do and expect people not to show there concern when they have problems.

then most of the time ignore them
