2003 Cherokee Grey Wolf.

Heyy everyone. We just bought a 2003 Cherokee Grey Wolf. Model # 29Z. Having trouble wit out furnace & microwave. This is our 1st camper so we r still new to all of this but we were told the furnace could b ran off of electric as well as propane but its not working on electric & haven't tried the gas yet. Can anyone help me out with this? Can we use electric to run it & its something else wrong or dies it have to have propane to heat? Also our microwave will not heat as well. Fir the sake of sounding stupid I have never heard of a microwave running off of propane so any ideas what might be causing that as well? Mainly just any info on the furnace will be greatly appreciated as we r living in the camper now & it is very cold at night lol. Ty!!

Microwave requires 120v(camper plugged in) and furnace needs 12v for fan, and propane to make heat

either the seller lied to you or you misunderstood. the furnace is propane-ONLY, but it needs 12v DC power to run the fan and ignite the flame.
the only 110v AC electric heat is from a portable ceramic/oil-filled heater that you bring inside. many of us use this IF we have electric hookups and only use the trailer's propane furnace to supplement that. that way you save propane.
be advised, if you don't have hookups, the furnace will deplete your battery quicker than anything in your trailer.

as far as the microwave, take it out and try inside your house. see if it works better there. but it's a 10 year-old microwave and may have been damaged or just gone bad.
remember, it will ONLY work if you again have electric hookups. it will not work off the battery.

depends on which model water heater you have.
most of us have a propane/electric water heater. the Suburban version has the propane side on a switch inside, IF it has DSI(direct spark ignition)that lights it electronically. some versions require lighting a pilot light thru an outside access door. and the Suburban's electric side has a toggle switch that's also accessed from the same outside access door.
don't know how Atwood water heaters are setup but most FR products have Suburban water heaters.

you can download the owner's manual for both your furnace and your water heater, from the manufacturer's website. you'll need the model number.
