2017 294bh

Hello everyone!

I am close to signing the paperwork on a 2017 cherokee 294BH. Just wanted to ask if there is anything I should know that the dealer might not be telling me about, or if there is any known issues with this unit? This will be my first ever Rv, so I'm pretty raw in terms of knowledge. Thanks for reading!

Congrats, if you have the time read up on this forum and others to understand what type of systems your RV will have. Read about PDIs etc. Do your research on floor plans and price. Good Luck!!

Go under the 'Library' tab above and go down to 'Most Popular Files' and print off a PDI checklist.

If you buy it, check all of the paperwork and such that comes with it. FR offers an extended warranty for $150 or something like that. The dealer will most likely neglect to mention that one to you. And, you only have 10 days to get it in to them. Someone mentioned that they may give you some leeway on that but it's doubtful. I tried after a few weeks and was denied. The dealer will try and sell you their extended warranty instead.

Also, you should register all your products in your unit individually. Some have longer factory warranties than the campers itself, so it will be easier down the road should something go wrong. I also found out by doing this that Suburban (Furnace) and Dometic (Air Conditioner) offered me extended warranties for up to 5 years at a nominal cost. I think the furnace was like $39 for 5 years and the AC was $129 for 3 or 4 years.

Thanks everyone! Lets just say I was close until the dealer hit me with a $2000 "manufacturer to dealer" fee when the coach is already on site. Then a $1400 "service agreement" fee. I'm still fighting so we'll see what happens!

My only complaint (so far) is the miniature sized bathroom! The shower is absolutely tiny

If I could do it over, I would have gone for the 304bh.. way better option if you are willing to spend the extra $
