a/c unit

So remember I'm new to this.....

This is the first time we've run out a/c for any length of time. I noticed water dripping from the out side gutter. It is clearly coming from the roof ac unit.
Is this normal??

It's the condensation exchange from the AC. Just like at home. Normal, normal.

You should have the Freon level checked as it might be low and the filter may need cleaning or replaced.

If you have the ac running and you don't have water running off the roof, it's time to start investigating. The water off the roof is normal and should be just about constant.

If this was the case it would be short cycling, freezing up or not cooling at all. Wouldnt hurt to check though, but I wouldnt worry about the freon for given condition.

Every ac system from a car to house makes condensation. Humidity or lack thereof will determine how much. On humid days here in OK, one rv unit could easily make a gallon an hour

By the way....
We are out in deep east texas, close to the Louisiana border. Very rustic and peaceful.

The water comes from frost buildup melting from the condenser right?
