Adding a second battery

Thinking of adding a second battery to the Wolf Pup. Is it necessary to have the exact same battery as the original battery or will any deep cycle of similar size work? I have heard different views on this, what say you?

Ideally get the same brand size and age to keep the batteries balanced. A lot of people use their battery for some time then decide that they want to add another one, keeping what they started out with. If you currently have 1 12volt battery 90%+ chance that it will be 1 of 3 popular sizes. Group24,27, or 29/31. If it’s a 24 then the choices are buy a second group 24 which will be newer and roughly double your power or replace the group 24 with a good deep cycle group 31 and roughly double your power. I would go with the second option if my group 24 is more than 6-8 months old. What should be avoided is mixing sizes, that just won’t work right at all, either charging or discharging. How old is your current battery? Look at Sams club for pretty good prices. Jay
