Adding pocket doors to bedroom
Just curious if anyone had attempted to add this option? I know my TT only has curtains on either side of the master bedroom. These are pics I took of a Jayco that has them. Great idea!
Im going to give it a try if I can find some doors to match...

only reason I could think that this wouldnt work is there is no ceiling joist above where you want to put door. which is maybe why there isnt a sliding door now .
just a thought .

Actually, now that I think about it...there may be a joist up there in mine. It has a track screwed in up there for the curtains. They dont put pocket doors in because Gray Wolf is El Cheapo model..

Aaaaa I see ! Cheap skate ! Lol kidding.
My Tt had sliding doors just make sure you install a good door stop and rollered keepers on the bottom.
Also and this is a must.
Install a GOOD HEAVY door retaining strap to hold door open whilst traveling !!!!!

Already thought about a snap type door stay...thats what they had on the Jayco.
By chance can you take a pic of the bottom roller of your door? I forgot to get that one

Two of the "no's" on my list when we were looking for our TT - no accordion doors of any kind and no curtains to the bedroom. Had to have an actual door that closed. Either a pocket door or a regular door. When we went to RV shows and I'd see an accordion door, I'd immediately exit and put a big "no" next to that model.

Already done some research into this... Home Depot has the cheap doors that most of the TT companies use (color is close). I know the tracking system that the Jayco's use is made by Johnsonhardware.com but I think I can use any pocket door hardware.
Next step is to get over to storage and take measurements. I have to figure out the total width of the trailer (wall to wall) and the width of the entertainment center in front of the bedroom. (so the doors tuck nicely behind it)
I think this will be a pretty easy upgrade and i'll post pics when I get a weekend free. Too much family stuff out of town right now.

Aren't most RV walls today constructed with aluminum (sp) studs and joists? If so, then will a stud finder work?

You don't even have to put the doors in the wall. My Cherokee had 2 sliding doors leading into the bedroom. They we're mounted on a sliding track inside the bedroom. There was a small track on the floor on each side of the door to keep them from swinging. Each door had a strap to hold them open during travel. Just a thought.

Seriously considering removing ours and replacing with a curtain. To us, it is useless and a PITA to use.

We have two of the sliding doors in our unit and one "normal" door into the bathroom. It's always in the way so I have been thinking about changing the "normal" door into a sliding door.
Please keep us updated on your progress, I might take up this mod...

I wouldnt be building a wall. Finding the studs would just be for the ceiling to mount the track. The doors slide between the bed and the entertainment center

Not sure if I said why I wanted to do this...kinda funny actually. We have good friends of ours that occassionally camp with us and sleep in our camper. Well....he SNORES like a freight train! I figured i'd try putting doors on to block a little noise...next step i'm suggesting they buy their own camper! lol...
My issue is in the hot times. I dont have ducted AC so I may have to leave a door open or find a way to cool off the room.
