Antenna replacement 24rl grey wolf

Has anyone changed the stock round antenna I would like to change to a bat wing directional would like some advice.

The lite came with some winged thing which works okay but we did not use the local channels much.

As the last poster stated that is definitely the way to go. I just changed mine out yesterday and what a difference! Here's a link to the correct one for an RV.

How was the install of the new antenna? Any cutting of the roof or ceiling necessary?

Install was easy as everything is already there. Just have to enlarge the existing hole on the roof.
