Anyone do this yet?

Thinking about taking out my sofa on my 28BH and replacing it with a built in bar! I was a kitchen designer for 10yrs so building and installing it would be easy. Keeping the weight down (it's on the slide) would be the issue. Im sure if it's made out of plywood with a veneer it would be lighter than particle board.

Just curious if anyone has done something like this or if its a bad idea to put a loaded up bar on the slide.

Blake

Probably a bad idea, as the slide boxes are pretty weak at the best of times. I'm also not sure why you want to get rid of seating space in the camper. I'd rather lay on the couch on a rainy day than get pissed.

I think you might have come up with a new floorplan for Forest River, a wet bar slideout.

We dont like to spend a lot of time IN the camper when we are camping, plus we have a huge dinette to sit at. We do like to entertain though and frequently have friends/family join us. The bar would be nice but im sure the slide might struggle with it.

Definitely a new floor plan idea

If you don't spend much time in the camper, then a bar on the outside of the camper would be more practical. And it would be easy for the factory to use an outside storage locker to put it in. We actually have one already in the slideout for the entertainment centre. We store camping chairs and stuff in there now, but it would be perfect for a bar.

Ya I really would have liked to get the one that comes with the outside bar but we opted for the bunks instead.

Might be a good idea to do a mini set up in one of the storage areas. I just have all my hoses and stuff in there right now
