Awning shutters when extending/retracting

Is there a lube that is recommended on the awning track that would help with the shuttering as it extends/retracts?

Ours is hit and miss. Shutters one day, smooth and quiet the next.

I've used the dry lube for slides on the awning tracks. Worked.

Thanks. I was thinking something like this because I don’t want it to collect dirt and dust and make thinks worse.

Our Isata 3 has a Carefree Dual Pitch Latitude that started shuddering. It was caused by the fabric sliding under tension on the cross bar that spans between the arms. A liberal application of spray silicone on the underside of the fabric took care of the issue. The spray is invisible and cannot attract dust.

So you applied silicone to the awning itself? I’m missing something.

Not the entire awning, just the underside of the fabric. I have no telescoping arms and the shuddering is caused by the fabric sliding on the cross arm that runs parallel to the coach. If you don’t have a Dual Pitch style awning then this probably doesn’t apply to you. And to be clear, I used an aerosol spray not a paste.
