That's a good practice, but it doesn't help when you're hooked up to water at the post and someone leaves the water drizzling in the rig. The tank backs up and you have a flood (The voice of experience).

You are right. I have had a faucet left to drizzle in a bathroom in the camper 3 times caught it shortly after spill over. Have looked into metered faucets. Right now we turn water off when not around and water off throughout the night. Gallon water jugs in both bathrooms for flush use at night.

I am so not the standard camper. I only dump, never "hook up", Rarely connect to power, ... No I'm not in a tent, I have an RV, but it is set up and used 100% off-grid for all systems. Brought my marine background with me into the RV scenario and it has worked out wonderfully in function. No I have no limits.

So if not connected (100% of the time like many), when the water pump is turned off, it can not happen.

As this happened back in July, I'm pretty sure the OP has the camper dried out by now.

Yep, as stated earlier in the post I feel I have it better than original.

I also took some precautions for the future:
I installed a new faucet which has handles that you can tell if it is on or off.
I purchased a Water Block Excess Flow Water Shutoff Valve that now goes on my hose. If 6 gallons of water are used in one session, it will shut the water off.
I purchased Zircon Leak Alerts and put them under the sinks, by the toilet and by the water heater. So if I get a leak, they go off like a fire alarm.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

I like that idea. I didn't know that made that type of shutoff valve. Thanks for sharing.
