Bikes on a Alpha Wolf

Taking delivery on a 2020 23RD-L and it comes with a “travel rack” from the factory. Thing is, my wife and I have a couple comfy Townie we want to use at campground. Is there any way to securely use my Kuat rack? It would need a 2” receiver installed somehow, and nor sure how that’d work with that rack.

If not, what ideas are out there that’d work with the camper?

Thanks!

Many folks myself included have added a 2" receiver hitch to the rear of our rigs. You just have to ensure the installation will handle the weight. And remember weight add aft of the axles reduces tongue weight.

I picked up Stromberg Ultra Bike Rack from CW. Got some 2" washers for above and below the cage of the travel rack and bolt them on at the correct spacing for each bike. Then I rachet tie the bikes to the rack to keep them steady. The back rack on our Grey Wolf 23MK supports 200# and is attached to the frame rails rather than the bumper.

Thank you very much! I hadn’t seen those before. I’m thinking that I should be able to make them work. Need to verify weight capacity of the rack and want to make sure the bikes don’t get stolen...

Thanks again,

Thanks again,

I use these as well, and they work great. As noted, I would use stronger ratchet straps to secure the bikes to the rack.
