Exclamation Cautionary Tale: Wheelwell Caulking

All,

I just wanted to share a warning. Be sure to check that the factory caulked all of your exterior joints. This past weekend we discovered the hard way that the factory failed to caulk the joint between the exterior wall and the driver's side wheelwell. As a result, the recent rainstorms filled up the underbelly of our 16BHS up with water... Not fun! It is currently at the dealer once again, having something else fixed under warranty.

It looks like we caught it before too much damage was done, but there is definitely new insulation in our future.

Yikes, that sucks. We keep ours covered and it hasn't been in the rain, but I will definitely check next time I'm over there.

Better than that.....while you're at it pull the wheel and take a good look up in the wheel well. I bet you do not like what you find. Before you do have some good caulk and a can of undercoating on hand.
