Cherokee 264L coax cable connections

We have a brand new 2014 Cherokee 264L. We have a Wingard Carryout satellite receiver. When we run the coax from the satellite through the door and directly into the back of the DirecTv box, everything works perfectly. When we run the coax from the satellite to the coax connector on the side of the trailer and then connect the DirecTv box to the wall coax connection by the TV mount, it will not acquire a signal. We have an antenna on the roof but no crank to do anything with it. The coax connection in the wall has a 12V outlet and a coax connection. What are we doing wrong? Appreciate any help as we are newbies at this. TIA

I have the same set up on Salem I just bought. I think that the coax connection by the TV is connected to the roof antenna.

Is the button on the wall mount coax connector pushed in ( green light on). If so turn it off.

FlyBob,
Is that connection to the roof mounted antenna ? What is the button/green light for ? What is the 12 volt outlet for?

I have been told you will have to run another 'circuit'....install another receptical outside & inside.
I don't know all the answers but something about your receiver (next to the TV) sends power to the dish/carryout thing & if you run it through the existing connectors the power doesn't reach the outside.
A guy showed me this using a meter on the dish end.I was getting no power with the button in or out. I had to do as you said, rub it in thru the door

If you don't have an outside port marked "satellite" you may need to run a separate coax from the outside to a wall outlet on the inside. According to some of the others that have had only a "cable" port the solution was to change the splitter to one that is a different frequency. It MAY be located behind the wall outlet in the trailer. The splitter that they installed was purchased from Home Depot of $4. It is a "Ideal" splitter model #85-132, 5mhz to 2.3ghz. If you do a search on the forum you may find the thread that discussed it. The problem with the "cable" port is that it will not pass the 12V needed to power the antenna. You should also turn off the antenna amplifier.

The TT I have has two outside ports, one for cable and the other for satellite and two inside wall outlets, one for satellite and the other for cable/OTA television.

I can't remember if I saw the discussion on this forum or a different one so do a few searches (on the menu bar at the top of the page) and maybe you can find the solution.

One other method is purchase a "flat" coax jumper, you can get them on Amazon for about $4 + shipping or Walmart.com for about $2 and if shipped to pick up at the store there is no shipping charge. That will allow you to close a door or window with the coax passed through. That is the quick easy way to solve the problem
