Covering for winter?

I'm just getting a new travel trailer next week and it's still raining here I California. The trailer will be parked outside for another 3-4 months. Should I cover the trailer during this time or not? It sometimes gets down to freezing at night and some wind during the day, not sure how these elements will affect the trailer. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced from someone who wants to keep this TT clean as long as possible.

when we lived in Napa Valley, we only covered our TT during the summer, since the sun would damage the decals.
never needed to cover during the winter.

You will get many opinions here. Personally other than trying an RV cover once (it lasted 3 months and went to pieces) in 35 years of camping I have not covered a camper.

Covers only last a few years , car port is the way to go! Keeps the sun and rain off your camper.

Thanks. Unfortunately I dont think I have the room, nor the backing room to add a carport. Not until I get a new house at least. Any other reccomendations to keep it clean during the winter and summer?

Wash and wax it often.

I have a new TT because my old one had about 4 inches of snow on the roof. As it melted, water ran down the refrigerator roof vent and damaged the entire kitchen floor. I purchased an RV cover with my new one.

No snow here in California, at least where I live. So I think I'll be fine without. Thanks for the heads up with snow.

I bought a cover for ours (new last year) because I was worried about sun damage and the melting snow here in Michigan.
