You might want to list your make and model so you get the correct answer. Wiring seems to be somewhat hap hazard on these rigs.

My guess would be that it belongs in the crimp with the white wire. The other side....Black w/white stripe (usually the + positive side) is connected to the power/load side, so logic dictates that the solid black belongs with the white neutral/ground wire. I work with wiring like that everyday assembling laboratory equipment and all the cable we use just like that, the black with white stripe is always + positive.

I hate to ask, but I really want to know. What do cup holders use current for?

In my 2018 the cup holders each have USB ports and led ring lighting

Crimps

I really hate those type of crimps. They never seem to want to hold. Most of my electrical work I try to solder for strength, but that's just me. Also, in my defense, I haven't had to solder anything on the Trailer yet.

We lost most of our 110V outlets last year on our new 2018 Cherokee due to those crappy push quick connects they use for wiring. Neutral fell out and took out all of the 110V outlets, except for the GFI ones.

When I find one of those that has failed, I just change the whole thing to either a solder on connection or a connector that I just clamp on and it makes contact through the insulation, depending of circuit voltage.

Ours havenít worked from day one they spent an hour messing with it before we took delivery and I need to take it back in to have them replace it under warranty. Not sure what the deal is.
