First weekend out

So we had our first weekend out and went to Luray Caverns in Luray, VA on Saturday. On Sunday we went to Shenandoah Caverns. I recommend Shenandoah. Smaller, fewer people, family owned, great caverns, and in better shape.

Also stayed at Jellystone. It was fantastic.

Our RAM power jack died though. Doesn't have any power at all. Recommendations?

Usually there is an in-line fuse (30 amps) have you check if burnt?

Sounds like a fuse, which reminds me to stock up on a few.

Send a message via AIM to B and B
While holding the switch to go down wrap the motor hard, might be as simple as brush seating inside the motor.

Check the circuit breaker under the front of the camper on the frame.

Is there a way to reset it, or do I have to replace that one?

It's in storage right now and I want to be prepared when I go out. I am fairly certain that I know where the circuit breaker is.

Thanks everyone!

I'm not 100% but expect it to be an automotive fuse, so bring a fuse kit (includes a bunch of sizes). 15 - 30 amp should cover you for anything. Mine has both auto and mini fuses.

If the circuit breaker popped, you can reset it!

A lot of power tongue jacks have an inline fuse. Maybe follow the power wire, you may find one.

May also want to check the ground to the power jack, if the fuse is not your problem

Got out there and ran a few tests, found some new stuff and figured out it was the fuse. Now, where does one find a 30a 500v 6x30 ceramic fuse?

I've been to three. No luck on that size fuse.

Home Depot, lowes, menards all should have a 30amp ceramic. Where's radio shack when you need them.

I guess we live in some other world. None of the car parts stores, Lowe's, Home Depot, or radio shack had them. I just ordered from Amazon and will roll with that. Thanks everyone!

If it were me, I'd grab a regular 30a tube fuse and use that till the other(s) come from amazon. As long as it's a quick trip fuse, should work. I've had to do similar to keep equipment running at the school I do maintenance for.
