Frame Parts

Any engineers or Arctic Wolf experts know exactly what the purpose for the extra brace in the picture is for?

My two best guesses are:

1. Additional support for the bumper mounted gear rack (which I removed) that came with the rig.

2. Cheap way for the factory to indicate to me that "Hey! you are getting close to bumper drag".

I am considering removing that bottom brace and installing some actual skid rollers as a precautionary measure. Didnt know if there was something I did not think about.Click image for larger version

Thanks for the input.

I would say that's a mount for the optional bumper mounted grill.

Hate to hear it...I just cant find the use for those brackets. We have a nice local campground we like to frequent but I look for those dreaded "skid marks" on the concrete slab that others have endured before we secure that spot for the next visit. I figure I can put some rollers on there (similar to a roll off dumpster) and be good to go.

Happy outings!

On our arctic wolf they are for mounting the carrying tray on the bike rack or mounting a rear receiver. That’s why the bumper is mounted so low. Personally, I don’t like it as you said it drags. I am currently looking for castors to mount.
