Generator help

We have a 50 amp and need a generator we can plug directly into 5th wheel. Only really want to run furnace and maybe a tv but needs to be fairly quiet. Any suggestions? Just had windstorm in area and will be out of power at least 2 more days in close to freezing overnight temps. Currently running Honda 3000 gas to run 2 heaters but plugs feed through window right now and it's just not getting warm enough.

If you are wanting to plug into a generator like you do at the park, then you need a 12,000 watt generator. It's going to be loud. Why not get an adaptor and plug your 50 amp trailer into your Honda 3000. Not sure why you are running cords through a window.

I'm not understanding...

you have a 50amp coach(?)...does that matter?

you ALREADY have a generator(?)...why not plug your coach's Shore Power cord INTO it?
(use a 50amp to 30amp adapter you can probably easily buy at W*mt or Hardware stores) You would then be able to turn things on just like you do any other time, no extension cords needed, or open windows. If you're only needing your FURNACE and a TV, then go for it!

If on your generator you only have 15 amp receptacles then you use this adapter for your power cord.....

https://www.amazon.com/Camco-Dogbone...+adapter&psc=1

If you have 30 amp twistlock 3 blades receptacle then you need this one...

Why not use the generator you have and an adapter from the high current output twist lock on your generator to your RV power cable.

Thank you! We were told that we couldn't use an adaptor with the generator to plug directly into trailer. I thought that was wrong but they said it wouldn't work. Gonna give that a try

Guy that did maintenance on our generator. I'm realizing most people don't know what they are talking about over here in regards to trailers/ 5th wheels. Now I just gotta find right adaptor. Female 50 to male 3 pronged 30

The 50 female to 30A 3prong male used for campground adapters will NOT work. The generator most likely has a twist lock connector. Due to your time constraint, you may have to use a twist lock male to 3 prong 30A female and a 30A 3prong male to a 50A 4 prong female. If you do this you may have to watch current demand, but if just running lights, TV and furnace you should be OK.

That is the twist lock. See post #5 A standard 30 to 50 A campground adapter will NOT work.

do you have an ems system (progressive, surge guard) in you incoming power supply? if so you may need to also get a grounding plug for the generator. i'm unsure whether the honda 3000 has the neutral bonded or not.
