Gray tank help

We own a 2016 26dbh and it seems like the gray tank smells worse than a fully loaded black tank. Others we camp with don't seem to have this same issue. Any suggestions what it could be or possibly how to fix?
I purchased the elbow with the spray nozzle to shoot up into the tank but it doesn't do much of anything for the gray...Works for black but I already have a tank flush for that!
Any help is appreciated

I know that they sell drop in tablets and liquid as well to help break down the contents and deodorize such as those for black tanks.

You sure the grey tank IS THE GREY TANK? Get a clear elbow and see if anything is going on.

Yes I'm sure of that. I always use a clear elbow when dumping. I also do use the dissolving tablets...I'm just not sure why gray smells so bad. To be clear, not the same smell as black but almost a rotten smell.

I had the same issue....when leaving camp I would completely drain the grey....that's the no no. Found that it ferments when empty. Now I add several gals. of water and no more smell.

Thank you, I will do that from now on. How do you get the water in when you are at the dump station? Or do you just put a few gallons in when you get home?

Turn the water pump on and add from fresh tank. Best to have it in there during travel to slosh around/rinse tank walls

Had the same problem. A guy at a campground with 30 years of RV experience told me he puts Cascade detergent in his gray water tanks. Tried it and it did the trick.

When we were doing our PDI on our travel trailer, the person that did our walk through said that they put a liquid in the black tank and then they will also put 2 oz in the sinks after the grey tank is empty and when they use it the next time it will help keep the grey tank smelling good.

We use the Geo Method in both the black and grey tanks - really helps keep the smell down.

And the grey tank can smell as bad as the black... or worse.

Do you have a strainer in your kitchen sink drains to reduce particulates from going into your gray tank. Once and a while throw a 1/2 C. of bleach in the tank and fill it up like you would sanitize the water system

Dump a little odoban and a gallon or two of water into your grey water tank and you'll be ok. Odoban is available at Home Depot and comes in several scents but I like the lemon best for grey water tanks.

Odoban is also what we use to clean pet stains-it works incredible in eliminating odors.

It is also a great product to eliminate mildew smell from laundry that has sat too long in the washing machine before being put in the dryer.

Also used it to disinfect my RV heater ducting that was infested by mice. Parked camper on a steep hill and attached a wet/dry vacuum on the rearward most vent and poured an odoban solution into the vent on the uphill side...did great and mouse urine/poop smell has been eliminated.
