Your crank with the socket is for the electric jack. I don't believe the awning and jack have the same size socket, but I could be wrong.

I didn't get any tools for the awning.

My expy pulls the TT very well, seem to have sufficient power for whatever the road has thrown at us so far - in western pa we have grades to contend with - 8 to 12% ones. Never had any issues keeping up (55-60mph).

And power from the tow harness isn't likely going to be enough to run motors...and the usual problem isn't a dead TT batter but a motor that won't run for whatever reason so you need to manually retract the slideout.

I picked up my 28BH from storage (only there 4wks) and the battery was dead as a door nail. Couldnt retract the jack or stabilizers so I backed my truck up and connected the pin... everything instantly worked.

The F150 has a separate power source back there I found out. Mine had a fuse and a relay in the glove box that I had to put in under the hood. Ford does not install them from the factory because it supplies power to charge the battery on the trailer brakes (if the trailer has it). This stops the trailer if it comes unhitched. Some of the older trailers (of any kind) arent compatible with this and will blow the fuse. I know my 28BH came with a break away cable to just wrap around the hitch pin but a lot of trailers have that battery activated break away. Maybe this is why everything worked...not sure

I read somewhere on here that if you cut all the power (battery and shore power) You can just push the slide in. My dealer didn't have a clue either

Not sure the amperage that it would put out would be enough to power much other than some lights - it's not a very heavy wire.

As to the battery on the trailer - it's what operates the brakes should it become unhitched when driving and a dead batt won't do that. Batteries need charged at least once a month or they'll sulfate and be junk.

Like I said...worked ok for me.. stabilizers and jack went up fine

I think they were saying the truck power would not be enough to get the main slide to retract.

There is no manual slide screw - BUT do not dispair, there is a very easy way to retract the slide. Just disconnect the battery and all power from the trailer, then just firmly push the slide to the stowed position. Reconnect - Again RECONNECT the battery as it provides the BRAKE which holds the slide stowed for travel. I looked ALL over the place for a manual retraction device, only when I spoke to the mechanic at the dealer did I find out this is the only way to manually retract the slide. I tried it today and IT WORKED flawlessly. Just don't try to "shove" the slide back in. Just steady pressure, maybe with a helper, and it just slides right in. This is a '12 Grey Wolf 26RL.

I had trouble with the motor on my power awning and was able to roll it in or out by hand as long as someone was pushing the button inside..... dealer did not have a motor instock so I used it that way for 6 weekends last summer......had to stand on a picnic table or back my truck up to the side of trailer so i could reach it.....lol

Sorry should clarify, by hand, I mean no tools just grabbed in the middle of awning and rolled it in or out...lol

Don't know what brand you awning is but here is the manual on a Dometic/A&E power awning. Page 3 tells explicitly how to manually retract the awning in case of power failure.
