Greywolf 26 DBH

We own a 2016 Grey Wolf 26 DBH. I am interested in the type of slideout system that it uses and how to operate it manually if needed. I have read the Forest River Travel Trailer Owner's Manual and the Lippert Components towable RV Master Manual. Thanks in advance for any assistance on this topic.

I'm not sure if the 2016 uses the Schwintek system or not, but my 2017 26DBH does. Here's a YouTube link for troubleshooting.

Well that was good to see. My 2016 DBH has a Schwintek. I better practice that and get a 2x4 to lock it in place. Now I wonder where that panel is for the slide? hmmmm.....

Thanks for the timely reply and information. My 2016 Greywolf 26 BDH does have the Schwintek system. Would anyone know the location of the Slideout controller?

It is under the slide near the front. When fully in you can craw under at the bed and see it.

Hello all we took delivery of our 2017 26DBH on weds it was raining hard but we loaded the inside and had the slide out. Before we took it back to storage I did wipe the top of the slide off since it was rained on! Thursday we ran the slide back out as we where still doing some things and there was a puddle under the slide when we slid it back out! Today(Friday) we brought back home again to load for weekend trip and same puddle same spot but we had not opened the slide at all today! Puddle may have been a little smaller today but still there and the silver slide bracket was damp but I didn't see a drip. The only area affected is the back part by the bunks front part has stayed dry! Any thoughts!? Thank you!!

Had this leaking when my top slide seal was not sealing correctly. The water would run along the roof of the slide, down the side and onto the ground. I had the same pool and flow along the floor and to the rear bathroom area.

Depending on how hard it was raining, mine at least, did not have a slide topper so what is on the 10 x 3 slide will need to go somewhere when it is retracted.

That being said I also get a bit of a puddle when I retract in the rain but it does go away since it is only what was on the roof.

Same problem here. I'm told it's the top seal. I have spoken to several owners and seems to be a problem with this model. Suppose to take mine in in January for them to look at it. So long as the slide is out, no leak.

I've got a 28dbud, and in heavy rain if the slide is open the entire time or closed the entire time, I'm dry. Bring it in during rain and I get a little water.

Also, I make sure the trailer is level or leaning to slide side if I have to retract in the rain the alleviate some of the moisture.

Within a year my top seal had completely come off from the side wall. The sealant they used did not bond to the wall which allowed my leak. The areas it was leaking was almost not even visible it was so small but it was there. I ended up redoing the sealant and all is well now.

guys after reading through these forums I am terrified of silicone!! I resealed a couple little spots with silicone ( based on recommendation fromt the dealer!!) and now I am worried I am gonna have to go through and take out every place that is sealed and redo! I am 90% sure that silicone was used from the factory!!! Should I panic and redo immediately or can I just keep and eye on the seams and remove and replace with a different sealant as needed?? Also do you guys use a rubber roof cleaner and sealant at all? I am thinking of cleaning and sealing maybe twice a yr once at beginning of the season and once at the end of the season!?

FR had something looking like geocel on my seams, no silicone. I used Sikaflex to reveal mine, also could have used geocel. No sickness for me. Without serious removal and cleaning nothing will stick to where it was or a year that remains

Yeah I am going to remove and then clean and scrape...it my only options lol that's what I get for taking the dealers word and not coming here first!!!

I have heard good things about the geocel so that's what I am thinking I will go to! I am not going to do all at once though I am going to replace and remove as need which maybe soon by the sounds of it lol!!

Had this same model in 2014 model. Never had that issue, so something has changed....

Maybe it isn't silicone but it sure looks like it!! Thankfully I only added a little bit of silicone around a storage flap and a little on the top seal of the slide because some of the other caulking was cracked!

Doc one more dumb question if I use a geocel type sealant do I need to completely remove the older stuff I want to reseal or since it isn't silicone can I just clean and apply over this!?

Sorry for the delay been training this week so very little service in the field.

I would take it all off.. Want a fresh start. I removed the bead along the top of the slide seal and caulked. It leaked, turned out there was a second separate wiper seal AND a bulb seal that I failed to realize was separate. Peeled everything off, sealed the wiper seal, was only stapled on... No kidding it leaked... Then sealed the top of the bulb seal.

I do not think it short cutted the first time around but still got a leak because I failed the realize it was two seals. I am now good to go.

I peeled off what I could then used a plastic scraper then last brake cleaning fluid worked the best to get off the residue. Probably not needed but then alcohol as a final prep before resealing. Did it over two days just to show how meticulous I was. Water sucks and does lots of damage so the time is worth it!
