I have a gray wolf with 5373 miles on it. The trailer is a 2012 gray wolf 17 bh. The dealer has told me he cannot do any more for me. I think he should do more than give me the factory number and to handle it my self the trailer has been at the dealer for six weeks so far.all four tires are bald on the inside of tire.the dealer said the factory will not honor claim.i have called the factory and the do not return my calls.

I assume it's under warranty ?
What does the dealer say is the issue ?
Why do they say it's not covered ?

Wear on the inside tread on the tires is sometimes an indicator of overload. Have you ever scaled the camper to see where you are relative the it's GVWR?

Could very well be overload, but it's a sure indication of bent spindles or axles. Either way, FR should stand the cost of new axles & tires. It's bs that they put axles on that close to the limit, which they state, that you can't even put normal stuff in them to go camping. I think I would put a set of tires on it and tow it back to the factory and confront someone there. He could always put a sign on it and tow it back and forth in front of the dealer.

All I was thinking was the loaded weight would either point at a cause or put that agrument to rest if it's far from being overloaded.

it was not overloaded we carried no water and put some stuff in back of truck.plus we packed very light.

Do you feel that your dealer is advocating for you with the factory? Doesn't sound that way to me and I suggest that your post a negative dealer thread under Dealer Reviews.

I started the thread on the 2011 Grey Wolf. We had problems with ours, and as soon as we took it there, they knew it was an axle problem. They replaced both axles, and 4 upgraded tires. So far, things have been fine. The TT is going back to the factory at the end of the season (11/4) to have some other things fixed, and a fine tooth comb gone over the whole unit.

There was a unit at the FROG rally in Goshen Lipert looked at and no questions asked replaced the axles and tires as well saying they were defective. I believe it was Nuiance's 2011 unit.

I have a '12 26RL. I have weighed it loaded and everything is in spec. Trail Express 14" tires. Towed around FL about 1000 mi, no problems. Use TPMS, check psi every other fuel stop with handheld gauge. Just returned from 3500 mi trip to VA and back (lots of side trips) and had to swap spare for one tire. Inside edge was badly worn very concerned it would not make it the last 200 mi home (to dealer). Unit had been to CW for axle align 2 months prior (only 60 day warranty on that) as dealer had 6 wk delay and trip was imminent. Dealer now has TT and agrees tire wear is not right. Minor extra stuff - cracked vent cover, remote will not power up (new batt, will work by removing batt and reinstalling) hole burned in diffuser cover in range hood light. A leak somewhere in shower - not the drain, have remover the inspection cover and even the extra sawdust was dry. The leak always occurs after getting out of shower and seems to be behind the shower wall and exits at the bottom of the bedroom door jamb. Not a lot, 1/4 cup or less. I have sealed the wall and shower pan junction to no avail, also the h/c faucet plate. Will have to wait on dealer to finish, he called yesterday and has started. BTW I had same tire problem w last FR - same tire. Had to attempt to go through Lions Gate, FR does not do tires - Brenda (LG rep) said from pics it was not tires fault. Replaced with quality tires, my dime and all was well for last year of ownership.
Now I wait.

Confused, if you have a TPMS, why do you check with handheld gauge? My TPS TPMS gives me a constant reading of pressure & temperature on the display on the windshield.

Just because you have a TPMS which, as mine does, gives a "constant" (really a 3-7 min average) tire press and temp, does not mean one should rely solely on it. My TV also have TPMS but it only shows "Low Tire Press" warning, I have to check each tire to find out which tire it is and it only blows the whistle when the press falls to 28 psi or so. That is not good enough. I have 4 more sensors for the TV so ALL tires are monitored. I have had too many tire problems to just "hope it is all ok, my TPMS shows it is". I just like to be able to have a peace of mind feeling, and after all every other tank of fuel is usually a day and a half or so, so it is just checking, usually, each am before heading to the next site or CG. A little long, but now you know. You take care of your dive/parachute gear, it will take care of you. If you do NOT take care of your gear it will still TAKE CARE of you.

You are right, Leo looked at my tires and did a complete axle, tire and rim exchange. I was told that the production date was with in the range of the bad axles that they got from Lippert.

Different styles evidently, the TST gives the actual temp & pressure, it cycles from tire to tire in a set sequence and takes about 1 to 1-1/2 minutes to complete the cycle. If a tire gets too hot or the pressure too low, it flashes the tire and sounds an alarm immediately. No way to independently check the pressure without taking the sensor(s) off.
