Hitch Weight

I am about to buy a Cherokee 30L and the Hitch weight is 680lbs compaired to the jayco I have now at 860lbs. Will the lower weight make it tow diffrent. For the better or worse?

I think its all about the ratio of tongue weight to trailer weight. I seem to remember reading the tongue weight should be about 10%-15% of the trailer weight.

If the ratio is the same, I would expect the Cherokee to tow very similar to the Jayco.

As mentioned above it's all about the ratio. Even though the listed hitch weight is 680# I would bet that the real weight will be real close to what you're seeing now maybe even a bit heavier. The shipping weight on that unit is 7350# and 12% of that would be 882#. The GVWR is 10,850 so the TW if you ever reached that would be well over 1000#.

The Diffrence between the two TT is only about 150lbs. Would that make any change in the way it pulls?

If that is the case, you`ll probably want to load more of your stuff up front.
