Honda EU3000i Handi for Wolfpup

Is there anyone who is using the Honda EU3000i Handi to power the air conditioner and other things in the trailer. I was seriously looking at getting the 3000i Handi to power my 18TO. I called Honda to ask about it and they said it doesn’t run some air conditioners. Mine is 13500 BTU.
They suggested 1 EU2200 and 1 EU2200 companion. He said it would definitely run it. Any help on this subject would be appreciated

I ran my 13.5 on one eu2000 but mostly ran it on the two 2000s paired. I can also run my 15k ac on the two of them so I would think it would also be able to run the ac. It would definitely power the camper otherwise.

I did the two Hondas because it was easier to move 50lbs twice than 100lbs once.

I Have the 3000 Handi, It will only run my AC if you turn off the Eco mode. then it will only run for 4 hours with the Eco off.

Check your A/C unit to see if it has a "hard start capacitor" installed. Should be able to find out given the serial number. Without a hard start capacitor, even a generator rated large enough can have issues powering the A/C when the compressor first kicks in (which is when the highest current draw happens). They are not very expensive if you need to add one.

I have a 15K air conditioner that I run with two Honda 2200 inverter generators. I went with the two because of the weight issue when lifting. The generators only hold .95 hundredths of a gallon of gasoline each, I ran that one AC unit for 7 hrs. before refueling. The outside temperature was 88 degrees and the thermostat was set on 72 degrees. I had the Eco switch in the on position, the two generators would speed up for 2 to 3 seconds when the AC compressor kick on, but then return to Eco mode. I also have an extended run fuel tank that I can hook up to both generators, which gives me an additional 3 gallons of fuel.

I have 2 Wen 56200i inverters (Yamaha clones). When running the A/C, i have the parallel kit to connect them together. Otherwise I just run 1 unit. Kinda nice to have two units, each one is lighter than a 3k inverter, plus quieter. If I recall, the wen was like 51db at 1/4 load eco mode.

No problem for it to run the air conditioner and everything else. Just make sure you have a good back to lift it with.

I love my 12 years old EU3000is. Rock solid, holds more fuel and is 200 running watts stronger than the Handi. Comparison here:

I lift mine on and off with an electric winch

What model and where did you get the electric wench? I have a Honda 2000 that works great but when someone I know offered me a Honda 3000IS for about 1/5 of what it cost I bought it. I leave it in my truck but would love to move it in and out?

Can you please tell us a link or how to check the AC using the serial number?
Thanks

Sorry, I said serial number but meant part number. There is a parts lookup lookup (with diagrams) at https://edometic.com/ by model number so you can see if they list an optional hard start kit for your model. You can also email customersupportcenter@dometic.com your model number and see if it has the hard start capacitor and if not, if they have an optional kit for that. Seems to me there were a number of forum posts (maybe not this forum) of people using the Supco SPP6 capacitor as well, but not sure of applicability in your case. All this, of course, assumes you have a dometic a/c.

Harbor Freight 1100 pound winch. One of their better products.

There is also this Rack Jack that is pretty neat:

Better Inverter & AC FIX

Ok, I also love the Honda inverters but now I'm sold on the Predator at $699.00 and equal to or better run time and working Voltage. To make everything work great get a Easy Start for your AC and the 3500 will run everything including the Microwave and Wifes rollers & Hair stuff too !!https://www.microair.net/products/ea...nt=30176048267 and then watch this

Here are my two Wen 56200i inverters with parallel kit. I think just about the same as the Harbor Freight 2000 inverters. Just under 50lbs each so easier to move around than the 3500s. No complaints so far.
