microwave HOT

I have only used the microwave a few times, mainly to reheat the coffee.
I did baked potatoes and had it on for 10 minutes. Seems like it got so hot inside the internal breaker(fuse) tripped and shut the microwave off. The inside of the oven was so HOT it was radiating heat for at least 10 minutes. Finally we heard a Beep and the microwave came on again. Does the microwave need an outside vent?[

We had the same problem and decided to pull out the microwave. To our surprise the fan was not attached and just lying on the bottom. We removed the back of the microwave and re-attached it. No problems since.
