I guess you'll want/need more definitive info before you can decide what's the best way to go. Some of the things you need to consider are:

What's the cost to repair the trailer?
What's your deductible on your insurance policy?
Will a claim effect your yearly (associated) policy insurance rate? if yes, how much $$/year.
Will the claim on the trailer have any negative effect on any of your other policy rates? (Assuming all your insurance is with the same company)

Once you have these numbers, it should be pretty easy to make an informed decision!

PS- a good thing to remember is---regardless who the spotter is, your are the driver and in the end, the accident responsibility is YOURS!

As far as spotters go, if you can't see them, they are of no use to you. Make sure they understand they need to be able so see your mirrors. Either way, you are 100% responsible as the driver. Use the GOAL method. Get Out And Look if unsure.

Sorry for your pain.

The biggest hit looks to be at what looks to me, like your shore power connection. If it is, have it checked out behind the cover.

Some sharp person with tools could make a save on your bumper. If the end does not straighten out perfectly, you just might have use a small chain or such to tie the bumper cap to the bumper or keep losing it.
