My husband, Tom and I are looking at Grey Wolf trailers. We had an old 1974 Shasta that we used back in 1999. We found 20 wooded acres on the top of the mountain in the Ozarks, Marion County, Arkansas. We parked the little darlin' and have been here ever since. We were GOING to build a house here, but the economy nose dived(I realize everyone knows that).. so we decided to go mobile once more. We are shopping for a trailer we can live in most of the year and travel with once Tom retires.
We just purchased a 2012 Ford F-150 6cly 4 x 4 with the new ecoboost flex fuel system to tow the trailer when we find it.
Looking at the Wolf line because of the dry weight, less than 6,000 lbs. If anyone is currently in one of these, I'd sure appreciate all the input you care to share. We want the one that has the 2 chairs and Queen bed instead of all the bunks.
Thanks!
Karen

Hi Karen and welcome to the forum.

You posted in the right spot to introduce yourself, but I think you'll get more Grey Wolf owners answering your questions in their subforum so I'm moving your thread there.

Have fun with your search and glad to have you aboard!

I have a 2010 28BH. My dry weight is about 5400 lbs. Loaded out I weighed in at 6500. GVW is 7700 for mine.

I have the double bunks with the big slide. We love ours. Living in it right now until our house is ready. Fridge works great.

Few mods I have made have been small. I braced the two kitchen drawers, added a fan to the bedroom to help with circulation, added the Oxygenics shower head, an upgraded floor was put in.

Little done to it, but we love ours.

Welcome! We have had ours since May, but love it so far. Only some minor issues with it to date, but nothing terrible. They are great for the price. Get the power pack if you can, it is well worth it. Also, the tires are crappy Trail Express, so if you can deal it in, I would swap them with Maxxis M8008's or Khumo Radial 857's. Keep an eye on the tongue weights, too, not just unloaded weights (GVRW is more important as well, since you can load more than you think in a TT). The GW line runs a little heavy on the tongues it seems (most seem right at 12-13%).

Good luck!

We too have enjoyed our 28BH. Purchased last year July 18, ,& have spent more than 50 nights in it. Not quite like fulltiming in one, but with two small active kiddos, I've been very happy with the construction. For the money, they can't seem to be beat!

Thanks!!

I am so happy to have found such a great forum. The immediate input is wonderful, thanks to all who have responded so far.
The info on the tires is really helpful as is the tongue weight issue. We haven't towed a trailer in a while, so I had forgotten many things I thought I knew.
One of the posts had a terrific link to a "Towing" guide from Ford Motor company that gave us the formula to figure where we need to be to travel safely.
We are going today to look at DEALERS. It seems FR products are great if you have good dealer to help with any issues that arise.
Thanks again to all!!

Is this the TT you were talking about?

If so, that is a nice one and is called the 26RL. The dual entrance is a good feature, IMO (ours has one in the rear through the bathroom).

Dry Hitch Weight 778 lb. (353 kg )
Dry Ship Weight 5,711 lb. (2,590 kg )
GVWR 7,778 lb. (3,528 kg )
CCC 2,029 lb. (920 kg )
Exterior Length 30 ft. 11 in. (9.4 m)

What are the other specs of your F150?

This is the one that we bought last year, notice that the TV is facing the two swivel chairs. This is one of the features that we were looking for. Didn't want to get neck cramps watching the evening news and weather report. The only two problems that we have had is the sofa had to be replaced, the frame was bent and the overflow from the fresh water tanks suction is to strong, we just put a hose on the end of the drain and a cap (we remove the cap when filling the tank). Other then that we just love it. Going to be gone a month this summer and can't wait.

Check out the reviews on the 26RL. Great TT, easy to pull. All is good!

Yes! This is the ONE! We negotiated a deal on one in Lowell, AR at Camping World. Scheduled to pick it up Thursday, June 28. Thank everyone for all there help. We look forward to being a FR Family member for a long time. We will post pics as soon as it is home and set up. As I indicated, we will be living in ours, but will pick up and travel as the mood ( and money) strikes us.
