Newbie help with A/C

I just purchased a Grey Wolf Limited 27djse (I believe) we took it out for its maiden voyage and everything went well....... until we got home. I plugged the RV into an electrical outlet like I have done before. As we were cleaning the RV with the AC running the plug got knocked out of the wall. I plugged it back in and now my AC unit will not kick back on. Help? I reset the thermostat without any luck.

Check the plug where you plugged it into wall. You may have several things going against you.
1. Are you plugged into a 30 outlet or simply a 15A normal household outlet with an adapter?
2. Did you wait for the AC to balance pressure in the system?

If you reconnected the power without a time out the compressor was trying to start against a high head( pressure) this adds load on the motor and if connected to a 15A outlet you may have tripped the breaker. Did you have other AC appliances running in the RV when the plug was pulled?



I would start by checking the house outlet. If OK, then let the AC sit for 20 mins and try again. Also check the breakers in the distribution panel of the RV.

I am plugged into a 15amp via an adapter. The outlet is fine because I also had the fridge running at the same time (have done that in the past as well) and the fridge is still pumping cold. I checked the breaker and it is not tripped. I left it plugged in and left the thermostat on for about 40 mins and still nothing. After I read your reply I went out and turned the thermostat off and will check it here in about an hour to see if that did the trick

as stated... if you didn't wait 5 mins before plugging back in... it may have thermalled out. Unplug for an hour(as noted) or turn off and retry. I would turn other stuff off as you try it.

FWIW my converter pulls 10 amps when working hard.
