I hope, for your sake, that it was compressed air and not compressed O2.
It takes 3 things to make a fire. Oxygen, fuel (rubber) and a source of ignition ( in this case...impact).
In oxygen enriched atmospheres things that don't normally easily will burn much easier and more violently and possibly explode.
Over 23% O2 is considered oxygen enriched atmosphere.
