Our New Grey Wolf

Hello out there! After months of searching for a new family RV, my wife and I finally found the trailer that works best for our family. We just placed a deposit on a 2017 Grey Wolf 26DBH and we couldn't be more excited! However, I do have one question. We decided to take advantage of the extended warranty program, giving us an additional 4 year warranty. That being said, we've been told that neither the manufactures warranty covers leaks, nor does the extended warranty. Is that normal? Should we have anything to be concerned about? Hopping to hear some reassurance from the rest of the Grey Wolf family. Here's a pic of our new addition Click image for larger version

Cancel the extended warranty from the dealer, buy the 2nd year warranty from Forest river for $150.00.
Next, buy a couple rolls of eternabond tape for the roof seams to prevent leaks.
Edit: Congrats on your new rig and welcome to the forum.

I had a leak covered by my factory warranty. It was a bulb seal on the slide out and 6 or so pieces of trim inside that needed replacing. I also had the front tin replaced under the extended warranty due to the paint peeling.

In addition to the 1 year extension of the factory warranty,, you should register all your products in your unit individually. Some have longer factory warranties than the campers itself, so it will be easier down the road should something go wrong. I also found out by doing this that Suburban (Furnace) and Dometic (Air Conditioner) offered me extended warranties for up to 5 years at a nominal cost. I think the furnace was like $39 for 5 years and the AC was $129 for 3 or 4 years.

Your most expensive components are the AC, Fridge, Furnace and Hot Water Heater. If you buy the warranties you can to cover the furnace and AC, whatever you saved from your other plan should more than cover everything else. If you're still worried about that stuff, maybe consider a plan like Good Sam offers....I know my FIL has used it multiple times on their MH and been happy with it. It's only available to the original owner.

Apparently that is covered but a roof or siding leak is not. Odd if you ask me, but I'm new to this as it's our first new trailer.

Enjoy you Grey Wolf, we love ours. It is our first TT. I never buy an extended warranty. If they tack it on to your loan, you are paying interest on it. My response is if anything is going to fail in its first couple of years then I don't want it. Plus they are expensive.

I'll seriously be calling our service center tomorrow to inquire on a price! No reason to wait for a leak. Thank you!

I suggested that to a guy at my work who is dealing with a rotten roof, he has called the local Rhino dealer and set an appointment to get his coated as soon as the wood is replaced and the weather improves enough to get it into Boise dry.
