The only negative to it is nothing! It is a must, no running in and out of the camper while cooking! We love ours! We have a refer, sink, bbq grill on the back and micro on ours. I have the sandpiper 365 saq 5er and it was a deal breaker on all others that didnt have it or ones that had less stuff on the kitchen.

And that Sir is your opinion and you are certainly entitled to it.

I never said that it wasn't a useful feature - not once. My complaint is that the thermostat was relocated to an unaccessable location making it impossible to adjust the temperature which is the reason thermostats were invented to begin with.

We have a 2012 and our thermostat is also on the inside. I swear some people think of this "updates" just to screw with us!

Maybe so - I just cannot get over the fact that FR didn't know or didn't take prompt corrective action when this change was made. I mean the guys on the floor that were installing these things should have seen the T-stat on the rear wall and said something.

In thinking about what someone said that these units are probably built for an office/dorm room use, then relocating the T-stat wouldn't make a bit of difference, but that is not the only place they are used.

In addition, the Danby manual says that the T-stat is inside the unit, not on the outside.

I have gotten over this and FR had to pay for the additional materials and labor to install an access door- but it really was something that I was not too happy about when it all started.

Another thing - I am wondering if the rods will keep the door closed when/if bottles/cans that are placed in the door slots happen to bounce around also?
I left things out of the door for travel.
