Outside kitchen area

While camping this past weekend I noticed some campers had a outside storage area that had a stove, sink, fridge and small cupboards. I thought what a cool option to have. No more running in and out of the camper for this or for that. Any negatives to this option?

What is this option called. Curious, Because I would like to look at Forest River Travel Trailers that have this option.

Once I know the name of this option I hope to be able to do a search on the forest river web site an look at the floor plans available.

Just read another thread. Is it by any chance called a Galley?

It's called an outside kitchen. Ours came with a refrigerator, a sink, microwave, upper cabinets, drawer, swing out 2-burner stove and a pull-down television. It is the cat's meow, and we won't buy another TT without it. It was our #1 "have to have" on our list when we researched models. There are quite a few FR products that have the outside kitchen. Just a matter of going through all of the floorplans and choosing what you like best. Good luck!! I guarantee you'll LOVE the outside kitchen option.

Yup outside kitchen. Puma calls it a side paw kitchen. Deffinently nice to have for sandwiches for the kids and it eliminated our need for a cooler and ice.

We LOVE ours!
Will never buy a camper again without it!
Worth the weight and loss of storage imo!
Mine even has a pull out tv!

Nice I like that feature. We have a tv mount under awning but the dw won't give me permission because were camping and tvs aren't needed while camping in her opinion.

Ditto all of the above! We would not buy a new TT without it after using ours. Every camper at the CG stopped to ask about it! We dont have the TV, but have the sink, fridge, pullout stove, etc...

My wife don't play she would go right to the "well then your cut off card" which isn't any different than home but as always we lose.

Our newest one has the outside kitchen and it's AWESOME!!!! Almost went with a different model that only had the small outside stove and I am so glad we went with this one! Wouldn't get another without!

We just purchased our Surveyor with an outdoor kitchen (sink, stove, frig, cabinet). It will be a must have from now on. Love it.

I took a look at the Forest River Site. It didn't look like the Cherokee line had this as a option in their floor plans. I did see that the Rockwood has a option for the outside kitchen. Sure looks like a dream list option to have. Can only dream right now. Looks expensive. But someday!!!!

Didn't look at the 5er's because I don't have a pickup. But then again this option may only come on the bigger/longer heavier models. So maybe a 3/4 ton pickup should be on that dream list too.

For a family with kids, it is probably well worth it.
But for two old retired farts, the extra weight and cost, plus the loss of inside space, just wasn't worth it.

Kjoh - our 2012 Silverback 29rk has what is called an "outdoor kitchen", but only includes a foldout 4 burner propane grill and an electric refrig.

We haven't used the grill yet, but the refrig (which only runs on electric) is sure handy for keeping our beverages cold and handy.

It is a Danby and I need to come up with a way to keep the door closed securely as it tends to sometime open while traveling.

I don't want to drill holes for a latch, but has anyone has this problem and if so, how did you correct it?

We just had a thread last week about it.

I looked at them at the show when we ordered ours, with the door opened it was right at the level that would strike me about one inch above the eyes. No thanks, we carry a small fridge we keep outside and have the grill. The first time you hit your head on that thing, well, you get the picture.
