Picking up Grey Wolf 19rr Friday: a couple questions

We are picking up our new 19rr from Outpost RV next Saturday. We will stay the first night at their campsite which has hookups I believe. Saturday night we will camp somewhere in Illinois (maybe Argyle Lake State Park or Siloam Springs State Park) with electricity.

This will be out first experience with a travel trailer. Looking for advice on what the trailer will have vs. what I need to purchase. For instance will it come with the hose and adapters to fill with fresh water and the sewer hose to drain black and gray water tanks.

Thanks for any advice.

No it will not have those hoses unless they are nice enough to throw them in. But I doubt they will be. Don't forget about dishes, pots and pans, silver wear all that kind of stuff.

Unless the dealer throws them in free of charge, go to Walmart and get what you need. It's a lot cheaper there than anywhere else including Camping World, etc.

All dealers are different but mine came with a water hose, sewer hose, pressure regulator for the water hose and a adapter for the electrical power cord. If it were me I would ask for it. All they can tell you is no.

Contact them to find out what if anything they will be giving to you. If you do receive a kit it usually not the best quaility but will work in the beginning. You can list what's in the kit and we can go from there.

Thanks guys. They sell loaded trailers at rock bottom prices so they don't throw in freebies. The have a starter kit for $60 but I am sure it the one I see online for $48 which doesn't excite me. I'm off to Wal-mart.

My list so far includes:

Drill speed socket for stabilizers
stick on levels
leveling blocks
30a to 15a adapter
fresh water hose
black/gray drain hose
tongue scale ($123 buck at etrailer)

We have the dishes, cookware, sheets, etc. as we have been doing plush tent camping for the last 12 years.

RV toilet paper
Black/gray water treatment
water regulator
rubber gloves

Is the socket size for the stabilizers 3/4"?

Am I missing anything important? We will be camping two nights on the way home.

One thing to keep in mind is many (not all) maybe even few dealers mine included gave me a 15% discount on anything I bought on the day of sale which even included anything I had to order since it wasn't in stock .
I would ask your dealer about this. IT may save you some bucks !
good luck and have a great time in the new unit !

I bought a 25rr a month ago from outpost RV. Very good experience buying from them.

This past weekend was our first camping trip with full hookups. I chose not to buy the starter kit and just get what I needed at Walmart. If your 19rr comes with a cylinder at the back that holds your sewer hose, make sure you buy a hose that will fit inside it. The end pieces are to BIG. I guess TT equipment isn't always standard sized.

We are still piecing together what we need inside.

FYI. My TT came with a 25' 30 amp power cord. I didn't expect that.

Not trying to start the t-paper debate again but Walmart sells a 4 pack by Camco that is for RV & Marine use that is pretty good if you are going that route.

Also add a freezer/fridge thermometer to the list. Besides the stick-on levels you could use a hand held level too. The stick-on levels don't always stay in place - more so during hotter months.

When we picked up ours last Thursday, Family RV in Pomona, supplied the starter kit for our RV, it came with standard sewer hose, fresh water hose, plug adapter and a small bottle of chemical. We stayed one night out there at KOA campground, did not use our toilet, as we didn't have everything we needed to treat black tank, but used the grey tank.

I found a website that has an extensive check list for RV camping, here is the link:

We will be putting our 850lb ATV in the back and the position of the ATV will make a difference on the tongue weight. My max tongue weight is 720lbs and I don't want to exceed that and would rather keep it at about 12 - 13% of gross trailer weight. We will be using a Reese Straight Line hitch.

Didn't know that Fridge bars existed. Great idea. I already have the wheel chocks. Thanks.

My 19RR came with the "Level-up" electronic indicators on it, so no need for the stick on levels. They seem to get it pretty close. You may check and see if your 19RR has them on it. Personally I would get one package of the Lynx leveling blocks as well. 2 packages is better.

I think Forest River quit offering the Level Up indicators. I am buying a set of the leveling blocks from Etrailer.

You can remove the bars from the clip to use when you just need a single row bar.
