Plumbing issue

So, the cold water shut off to my hot water tank leaked, we just bought the trailer and I was checking everything out. My first time dealing with this issue and it's a bit of a pain because there is not enough extra pipe to cut out the bad valve and install a new one. The connections are crimped on and getting them off is not easy. After some blood shed and some cursing I found a product at the local hardware store called "sharkbite" that works really well with the 1\2 " plastic pipe. It just slides on and grabs the pipe and can be released if needed, the good part is it has a plastic piece that slides inside the pipe to make a better fit than some valves that don't.

The valves are pricey (17.99) but they are like a shut off that you would use in your house unlike the cheap valves that are installed at the factory.

I also redid some of the chalking on the trailer, the original stuff had shrunk so that it was no longer doing it's job.

All in all a good weekend of learning and repairing, next weekend off to try it out.
