Schwintek slide out lubrication

Is this how others live their Schwintek slide outs? If not, I'd be curious to see what y'all use and how often y'all lube it.

Thanks in advance

They require nothing. Any lube will draw dirt in and grind the gears or the track. Just wash and clean. Some lube the seals, I did that once on my old trailer, never again, attracted more dirt and dust.

I was told by my dealer to use a "dry" graphite type of lubricant for the slide.

Yes. Try to lube it once a year. Didn't watch the video you posted but it is most likely the same one I watched a couple of years ago.

IT's a mixed bag of information on the proper lube of the schwintek system. First the manufacture said no, nothing, notta, zero lube. Later there was information to use a specified lube product which I did end up buying but never used.

I have had too many well respected RV Techs tell me don't do anything in the way of adding any lube to the track. The track is designed to pull and push the slide by use of the track without lubrication. Adding any lubrication would only attract dust, dirt and create a slippery channel where you actually want the gear and channel to interlock smooth and glide with ease.

If the slide is installed and aligned correctly there is little to no weight lying upon the rollers under the slide out.

Oh and for what it's worth, I had used a standard dry lube on the track when I first purchased my trailer. The lube allowed the gears to slip eating away at the gear teeth as well as chew on the aluminum track. Very Expensive learned...very very expensive. Seems that Schwintec had this great idea on not selling individual parts such as a track separately and required the customer to purchased the entire replacement unit. Now since then Schwintec has been purchased by Lippard. I don't know if individual parts can now be purchased.

I also don't lube mine. Since it's operated on rollers rather than slide runners I do nothing except say a small prayer each time before hitting the button!

I do wipe some sort of silicone spray such as Armor all or other on a rag and
wipe the seals a couple of times a year. Try and find one that says it inhibits UV rays.

Happy Camping!

I thought I was the only one who prayed before hitting the button on our 3 slides. I also keep my fingers crossed, and before each try, go outside and run backward around our Lexi 3 times, counter-clockwise, chanting to the slide-out elves.
5 years and hundreds of cycles, and so far no problems. Must be working.

Find a dry lube. I think our dealer sold us a can of CRC dry silicone spray. Here in New Mexico we don't get much moisture so a lot of dust blowing around and my gears don't have any residue on them. I also use it on the seals of the slide when I bring it home I open it while I stay the gears underneath and close it after I spray the seals.

I sprayed a dry slideout lube on our Shwintek slideout tracks and it quieted it down.
