Slide problems on 04 Cherokee 28' TT.

I bought a used 28' Cherokee Travel trailer about 3 months ago. This is my first time with a camper. It has one slide that seem to work when I bought it, but after traveling from Louisiana to Florida where I live I started having problems with it sliding. It seems to slide out ok, but when it slides in it starts straining about the half way point. I had to replace the gears in the slide motor already because some of the teeth on the plastic gears broke off probably due to it straining to pull in. The new gear set was much better that the stock gears because the gear that stripped was now made of medal and it had a new clutch of course. I replaced the gears and mounted the motor back on. It seemed to work better, so we took it on a 1 week camping trip. It worked fine there going out and when we left to come home it went in just fine. We brought it back home and I set it up and leveled it and the slide went out just fine. I did some maintenance on it getting it ready for winter by winterizing all the water and then I tried to slide the slide in and it would only go about 10 inches and stop. You can hear the clutch on the motor clicking/slipping because the slide seems to be jamming up. I measured the front and back distance that the slide traveled and one side is like 6 to 8 inches from the inside wall while the other side is barely an inch. So it seems to be pulling more from one side than the other. My question is "Is there an adjustment on the slide where you can adjust it to slide straight"? I see some kind of adjustment screws on both gear mounts that have nuts on them that can be loosened and then adjusted with an allen wrench in the center screw. There are 3 of these on each gear mount. Do these do the adjusting? Thanks for any help with this and I am sorry that this was so long.
