Is it possible to increase the tension on the slide topper?

Yes. They should all have an adjustable spring. Higher tension, especially on our longer toppers, seemed to make no difference in the annoying flapping.

We have had slide toppers on all of our trailers and now with the 3 slide sun seeker its great to have all of them with toppers. Sure one of them tends to pool water , but the other two do not. however you can tighten the spring to take some slack out of the topper. Its amazing how much debris can build up on the top of a slide and once you put it in you can sure raise some problems with the top gasket. Anyway once in a while with the slides out when I am cleaning the roof I take a mop and clean off the tops of the slides under the topper. Just a bit more maintenance but its better than replacing the top gasket because some tree branch got caught up in it.

Definitely agree with having the side toppers. Besides keeping the sides clean, they also help keep the sun off. Every little bit of extra cool helps in the summer heat. We don't have any flapping with our toppers and cleaning is easy.
