Speaker Upgrade in 2018 Grey Wolf 26DBH
So I've been out exactly two times and I'm pretty sure one of my two built-in factory speakers is blown in my new TT. Has anyone replaced theirs, and if so, I'm interested in recommendations for recplacements (cost, model #, etc...)
Thanks.

FIRST check for construction debris in the back of the speaker.
All 3 of my trailers exhibited rattly "blown" speaker sounds.
I pulled the speakers out of the ceiling and found them full of styrofoam beads and saw dust. I vacuumed them clean and then stuck a donut of fiber glass insulation in the hole around the cut out to keep more debris from migrating into the speakers.
It made a HUGE improvement. You can use fiber fill from a craft/sewing store in place of fiberglass.
I bet you'll find the same thing.

following.. I am willing to pay a little more to get better quality. I am also interested in weather proof speakers for the exterior that are higher quality since i sit outside most of the time.. too bad Bose does not have exterior speakers that would fit in the existing housings.. I would be upgrading..

avigator,
I just completed an interior sound upgrade in my 2018 Grey Wolf 26RR.
I replaced the awful factory ceiling speakers with Polk Audio 6 inch speakers and I added a Yamaha powered sub.
I had to use a coping saw to enlarge the holes in the ceiling just a bit, but I completed the project in about an hour.
Sound is so much better now. I worked in TV and radio for years and cannot stand poor sound reproduction.
I'll probably upgrade the exterior speakers with better quality marine speakers in a few months. I'll make sure to find a speaker the exact same size as the exterior holes that are already there.
Here are links to what I installed:
https://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Ce...ords=polk+rc6s
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000V7H1FO...l_6uxi4cs7yl_e
Hope this helps.
Happy trails,
CTSS

CT: Did you have to add an amplifier? I would like to upgrade mine as well but am worried the new speakers would be underpowered by the iRV.

kdp1897,
I did not have to add an amplifier. I have a Furrion DV 3100 (the original entertainment center unit that came with my 26RR). I believe that it has 26 watts of power and I figured that was enough considering the Yamaha sub is powered. After installation, I was happy and the extra wattage wattage was not necessary at all. Also, I was a bit reluctant to go with more power from an amp - I don't want to be "that guy" at the campground infringing on others' rights to hear the sounds of nature. I sound tested my new system from outside the TT and I know that I don't have to disturb my camping neighbors to hear my much improved sound.
And, when I'm boondocking away from civilization (lol) I can turn it up. It's enough if you feel the need.
Just a heads up: I did have cut/rip a few inches of the foam A/C duct material in the ceiling to make clearance room for the rear ceiling speaker. I simply patched the area with some Gorilla Tape before I installed the new speaker in the slightly larger hole.
Hope this helps.
Happy trails,
CTSS
